When I send email to some email address, they will sit in queue and status is

4.1.8 451 DNS temporary failure (#4.3.0)

what may cause that and how to handle it?

thanks

This is a DNS issue an means that the server cannot find an address or mailserver for the address you specified.

sometimes this can be tempoaray if for example if the DNS server is temporaraly unavailable or the address is genuinely not accepting mail or down.

You can go to www.dnsstuff.com and do an MX lookup to the domain in question. If it fails, it is a DNS problem on the recipient side. If it doesn't try to run the queue again.

thanks.

the exact message is

<webmaster<_at_>domblue.com> (mail4.ab.tac.net: 451 DNS temporary failure (#4.3.0))

I am not sure if there is a problem with the email domain. I always was asked why people can send email to that address from hotmail and they can receive email from other people, but not from my email server. My email server is Kerio emailserver 6.1.4

Any idea?

Getting MX record for domblue.com (from local DNS server, may be cached)... Got it!

Step 1: Try connecting to the following mailserver:

Step 2: If still unsuccessful, queue the E-mail for later delivery.

Trying to connect to all mailservers:

I can't send to the mail server of webmaster<_at_>domblue.com, I get

>Recipient: <webmaster<_at_>domblue.com>, Result: delayed, Status: >4.4.2 No greeting from remote host

Obviously I can connect, but there is no greeting like:

> 220 mail.bluedom.com ESMTP ready

So the receiving mail server might not be configured properly, or not accept certain IP address ranges. Could it be that you are on a black list? What is the IP address of your mail server?

I don't know if your server is on a black list because I don't know your IP address. You can send me a PM if you don't want to make your IP address known to all forum readers.
