Hello,

I am using Wiroute Firewall 5 from some weeks, and I'm using the failover functionality.

I would like to modify some parameters of the failover, for exemple the number of seconds between each connection test, etc...
I've see that these parameters was definited in the "winroute.cfg" file in the BackupLine section:

<table name="BackupLine">
<variable name="Enabled">1</variable>
<variable name="PrimaryInterface">Internet FREEBOX</variable>
<variable name="PrimaryGateway">82.224.184.254</variable>
<variable name="ProbeHost">195.68.47.6;213.248.112.73;213.248.112.71;163.244.65.252 </variable>
<variable name="ProbePeriodOnSuccess">30</variable>
<variable name="ProbePeriodOnFailure">3</variable>
<variable name="FailureTreshold">6</variable>
<variable name="BackupInterface">Internet RTC Free</variable>
<variable name="BackupGateway">0.0.0.0</variable>
<variable name="RevertToPrimaryInterface">1</variable>
<variable name="UseBackupForwarders">0</variable>
<variable name="BackupForwarders"></variable>
</table>

Could you explain me exactly the meaning of each of these parameters ?

I think I must restart Winroute Firewall after modifying these parameters ?

Thank's in advance.

Here is a short explanation:
ProbePeriodOnSuccess - time interval (in seconds) of next probe after successfull ping
ProbePeriodOnFailure - time interval (in seconds) of next probe after unsuccessfull ping
FailureTreshold - number of failed attempts in a row before switching to secondary (backup) line

Other values can be set in Administration Console.

You must stop Winroute firewall engine before editing configuration file.
