Greetings,

One of our employees just bougth a Verizon Wireless phone model XV6700.
link:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=pho neFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=2200

I installed a self-signed certificate on the server and downloaded and installed the server.cer on the mobile device but I keep getting the support code 0x8007217.

Then I tried connecting via non-ssl connection but I can't seem to be able to sync anything.

I know for sure the Internet connection on the device is working because I can go to the webmail interface.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Binh

I have this exact phone and it works perfectly. I think you are missing a digit on the error code, as I believe the error codes are 8 digits. Please provide the full error code so that we can google it.

Sorry for the typo. It is 0x80072F17.

Any idea why the non-SSL connection didn't even work?

Thank you!

The error 80072f17 is for an unsupported digital certificate. Digital certificates that support wildcards are not supported on Windows Mobile devices.

Are you absolutely sure you are getting that error code when using a non-ssl connection?

No, I'm only getting that error code when using SSL connection.

When I use non-SSL connection, I don't get any errors. However, non-SSL connection is not working for me at all. I know for sure my Internet connection is working.

In Kerio MailServer under Configuration -> Services, is the HTTP service listening on port 80?

I asked if it was listening on port 80, not simply if it was running. Is the HTTP service in Kerio MailServer listening on port 80?

OK, then I'm out of ideas. Please submit a support ticket and we'll troubleshoot it there. We want to first get this working without SSL, so let's start there. Once we get that working, then we'll troubleshoot the SSL issues.

when you try to access webmail via https on your mobile using IE, do you get a message that tells you something along the lines that the certificate isn't trusted? if so, try replacing the root certificate from the issuer.

i had problems with our geotrust issued certificate.. turned out i had to delete the existing root certificate from the mobile then downloaded and installed the root certificate from geotrust even though the existing certificate was valid (or appeared so). Yes, it says the certificate is not trusted...
I am going to order a Web Server certificate from Thawte.

One question, on Thawte web site, they ask me for the type of server software (choices are IIS, Apache, etc.) What should I answer?

Thanks!
