Do we not have the ability to search the body of the message in mail filters?

Outlook has the ability but the filters don't seem to function normally when using KOC. I didn't see searching the body as an option in KOC.

I have had several customer complaints about this missing feature when they upgrade to Kerio.

There's lots of things you can do in Outlook that you cant do via the KOC.

Grouping contacts and mail by a specific field is another one that springs to mind.

KOC still needs a lot of work.

I'm a little unsure what you're referring to. (I have no doubt it's a real problem, I'm just trying to decide if it's one that should impact our own evaluation.) Could you describe a scenario involving this?

just filter a message, nothing more

in outlook you can create filters that search the body, in kerio it doesn't appear that you can do that

so if I wanted all emails with "computer" in the body of the message to go into my computer folder it would be impossible for me to do in Kerio but something that can be done in Outlook

This has been discussed numerous times in this forum. You can't do body filtering via the admin gui. But you can create your own spamassassin .cf files to do body filtering. You really have to know the syntax of those files and you will have to test a lot.

yeah and obviously my customers are not going to learn how to edit sa config files, nor do they want to, they want things quick and easy, Kerio really needs to add this feature, every single one of my customers complains about it

I don't know of any spam filtering system that allows users to change the available filtering rules. Well, besides MTA/procmail/SA. Is that really what you want to do? Most systems (KMS included) give users the ability to train the system through spam/not spam type buttons, but thats not rule or score editing.

I am not talking about SPAM filters, I am talking about email filters.

A work around was to use SA filters to try to filter by something in the body. It is definitely not the solution.

It is a simple request, customer wants to sort messags that have X in the body of the message to a certain folder. If they are just using Outlook they can do it fine.

This is a missing feature in KOC, that's all. Hopefully we will see it added soon. I have people wanting to look at other solutions because of it.

Yup sorting in outlook and searching is extremly limited in KOC. KOC still has a long way to go :(.

I downloaded LOOKOUT from M$ and have been running it for about a month. No problems yet... Kerio does not support it, of course. It is an add-in to Outlook that indexes all your emails and stores the index on your local pc. This allows you to search the body of emails VIA KOC but you still can't setup rules that search the body. but it is very fast on the searching... Oh ya im getting ready to roll out Kerio with KOC to 500 users and i can't wait to hear the complaints about the non-body searches and the limited group-by functionality. These problems need to be fixed. If you could do that in the next week that would be great......

They got their most requested mobile support in, I would think the next most requested feature is better search/filter support with KOC.

Good luck with 500 users, that is a lot...I've already rolled Kerio out with KOC to quite a few customers and I never fail to get complaints about why their "body" mail filters no longer work, as well as the lack of search features.
