Dear all,
Please can you help me regarding this problem?

I am currently using KMS 6.2 as a local LAN mail server.
KMS is configured only work with local LAN users.and it
relays all outgoing messages to a Parrent mail server(ex: abcd.com:25)
abcd.com is a IPSWITCH Imail server and it is accessible from the internet.

now abcd.com have 100 mail IDs & all the mails are accessible
from the internet via Webmail/outlook/any mail client.

Now i am testing KMS as a local LAN mail server and it is configured only 10 users of abcd.com locally with the same user name & same password as configured on remote IPSWITCH IMAIL server.

Basically KMS is downloading 10 users mails(POP3) from the remote IMAIL server and forwarding the same to the local lan users.

When a local user(from KMS) sending a mail to same domain(abcd.com)--

1. If the mail receipent have local address(10 users in KMS)then the mails are delivered locally through the KMS only. -its ok & fine

2.If the mail receipent have 10 local user address(10 users in KMS)and 20 remote users addresses(configured in remote IMAIL server) on same abcd.com domain, then the mails are delivered locally for 10 local users(KMS)and remaining 20 remote receipents mail are relayed through the relay server(abcd.com:25), but here this single mail are delivered 20 times from the KMS server to the remote IMAIL server. bacause the mail has 20 remote user.
here the mail is delivered individually to all 20 remote receipents. but the main problem is, it is taking too much time,
it is using too much of internet bandwidth. as example
if i ahve composed a 400KB size mail and i am sending this mail to 30users(abcd.com) where 10 local users(configured in KMS) & 20 remote users which are configured in IMAIL server(remote main server).

Then KMS is delivered the mail locally to its 10 local users and
also KMS is delivered the mail remotely to its 20 remote users using 400KB*20 receipents=8000KB(7.8MB of upload data)
SO it is using too much bandwidth for sending the outgoing mails.

Main problem is one single mail is sending individually to 20 remote users on the same domain. here it should go as one mail to its parrent mail server(IMAIL)

Before i was using ability mail server, that time this problem was not happen.

So finally my question is how can i send a single mail which have 30 receipent(10local+20remote)in a single go with the KMS 6.2?

Please reply. if any solution is there.

Note that i am using KMS in my LAN(Private Network)& for only LAN users.

Happy 2007!

This thread appears three times, so maybe someone from Kerio could delete two of them.

<.a.t.>lansclu: How do you address the recipients? Is it one big list in the To: field or are you BCCing the recipients?

Hi Pascal,
Wish you and your family a very happy new year 2007. Great year
ahead.

Thanks,

By the way receipents are in To: fields and there are 40 to 50
receipents in To: fields.(Not in CC: or BCC)

Thanks in advance.
regards,
Lansclu.

Normally, if you have recipients in the To: field which are on the same domain (e.g. user1<.a.t.>abcd.com, user2.abcd.com), KMS sends the mail only once.

BUT: It all depends on the client, which you use to send mails. If you use the KMS Webmail, it works. But if you use a client, that already splits the mail into 40 single mails when sending to KMS (on the LAN), KMS will send the 40 single mails.

So this seems to be rather a client problem than a KMS problem.

Hi Pascal,
Thanks for your reply.
But i have tested the same with Microsoft office outlook 11/2003
and Microsoft Outlook Express 6.
in both the client i have faced same problem. before when I have
ability mail server instead of KMS 6.2, this problem never happen.

So please reply is there any other possibilities.

Thanks,
Lansclu.

Can anyone have some solution.. I am describing the problem again.

I am using Kerio as a LAN(local) mail server with xlspntech.com
domain name including 5 user.and I have a global mail server(external/global) with same xlspntech.com domain name with 1500 users running Mdaemon 9 mail server(mdaemon.com).

Basically Kerio(our LAN mail server) downloads all 5 users mail from remote Mdaemon mailbox with same domainname, username & password.

Here KMS is relaying LAN/local outlook client's mail to the Mdaemon server(Global/external).

And Our LAN users/outlook clients are pointed to kerio for POP3 and SMTP services.

receiving mails from remote(Mdaemon) server by Kerio mailserver is working fine.

only problem is when our LAN user(KMS) are sending a single mail
to 7 same domain recipients.KMS is relaying the same mail 7 times.

Please note that: all the 7 receipients are remote users(not configured in KMS) but on same domain(xlspntech.com).

So, here KMS should relay that single mail once to the parent Mdaemon(global/External) server.not 7 times.

In this case I have replaced the KMS with Ability mail server.
The 7 times relay problem is solved.

So why it is happening on KMS? can anyone have some idea?

Here are the Mail & SMTP Debug logs.

Logs of a single mail from user slg<_a.t_>xlspntech.com to 7 remote(Not configured in LAN KMS) receipent in same domain, Mail is sent from outlook express.

Here slg<_a.t_>xlspntech.com user is configured on KMS (LAN server).
