I'm sorry if this is already documented, but I couldn't find it. Is there any way to view the Public Folders in Thunderbird? I have been trying to test a method for synchronizing contacts and calendars in Thunderbird, but it uses IMAP access to those folders.

LDAP doesn't help with Calendar syncing. And from what I can tell, Thunderbird only gives you a search interface for LDAP directories. People would like to be able to see the actual list.

Thunderbird is a mail client. It doesn't do calendaring.

You're right, through LDAP you can only query the contacts on the Kerio server. Perhaps you can list them all by searching for some wildcard? You can't for example edit them.

If you want 'groupware' functionality you should use a 'groupware' client: Outlook/KOC or Webmail (or Entourage on the Mac).

Thunderbird is an extensible mail client. You can make it do calendaring if you like. I will take a look at setting up the contacts through an LDAP query. But I would prefer something that would sync so that it could be used when not on our local network. This might end up needing to be a Thunderbird extension (I'm going to start searching for one).

As for groupware clients, we do currently use Outlook. But until KOC has an offline mode it is not a viable option. I am testing out the synchronization plug-in, but I would like to find some alternatives to Microsoft.
