Hi everyone-

Am evaluating for a client---could someone tell me what's wrong here?

Setup: Block of 6 static IPs XX.XX.XX.10-15

Have Winroute on W2K3 Server/Pack 1

Client wants to do TRANSPARENT firewalling (NO NAT) with Inet adapter multi-homed with entries for XX.XX.XX.11-15 with gateway at .20 (ISP)---All are static and registered...

LAN adapter is XX.XX.XX.10 with no gateway entry

Aimed a LAN Client (set as XX.XX.XX.14) at default gateway .10 (LAN SIDE) and for test, created a first rule passing ALL traffic both ways---

Symptom:

Can *only* ping ANY static client on LAN from outside (Internet), and *can* get to internet with http from Winroute machine OK

BUT NO access to anything FROM the LAN!!!

I guess I am setting something up wrong (maybe with DNS), since I can't even resolve addresses from the LAN, with ISPs DNS entries, and forwarding turned OFF. The docs don't really do anything but *allude* to this kind of scenario...

Any thoughts on how I can set this up and be running?

Thanks in advance
