Since mail folders are actually implemented as file system folders/directories, simply do not use characters that can't be used in file system folders/directories. Meaning characters that have a special meaning in command lines.

For Windows that would mean no \ / : * ? " < > |

I am sure these are universal, but we are running Kerio MS 6.3.1 on Mac OSX with 99% Mac clients running Entourage 11.3.3. Unfortunately Entourage allows the use of these characters in folders names with do not translate to the mail server properly and display incorrectly or disappear when viewing via web mail...

Entourage is the culprit in misrepresenting folders it 'syncs' with the mail server. I wish there were an alternate webdav mail client we could use rather than Entourage on the Mac.

Thanks for the reply
