Hi, got to work today, quite confident it would be a slow day (most people in sweden take this day of), but instead I was confronted with a mailserver that refused to let anyone log in.

The errorlog was filled with theese lines:

[18/May/2007 08:43:00] main.cpp: Cannot bind to LDAP server server.domain.local as user administrator<_a.t_>domain.local: Invalid credentials (code 49)
[18/May/2007 08:43:00] main.cpp: Search request '(&(objectclass=group)(kerio-Mail-Active=*)(sAMAccountNa me=list.Localization))' with scope 'sub' to LDAP server '', base DN 'dc=domain,dc=local' failed: Can't contact LDAP server

I recalled my fellow administrator had changed the domain password for administrator the other day, so I changed it back to the old one and everything is fine again.

However, I would like to be able to change the password for administrator, so if anyone could tell me where kerio stores its ldap-authentication I would be pleased.

or is it perhaps something else that's gone wrong?

OR you could create a dedicated account on your AD server for the LDAP connection from Kerio to the AD and setup KMS accordingly, so you're not depending on admin password changes...

Clever! The problem beeing that I don't know how to configure kerio to use that account would still be quite noticable though...

It looks like your current KMS installation was set up by someone else.
LDAP settings can be configured in Directory Services in Domain settings: http://www.kerio.com/manual/kms/en/ch07s06.html

Can't say I understand/recognize anything in that article in the manual. Don't have that tool on the domain controller. Should'nt there be some config file or something on the mailserver that should contain the setting?

Those dialogs are from KMS Administration console.

You are administering KMS for the first time, aren't you?

Click on "Domains" option in the tree, select your domain, double click on it and then on "Directory service" tab.

Yep, I'm a real rookie.

Now I see the problem. Had to double click on one of the domain names to get the dialog. Kinda stupid miss to make to say the least. But as I said, me real rookie. Wink

Thanks for all the help!
