Besides the default rules that winroute creates when installing it I have the following rule on top:

source: internet_users
destination: internet
service: http, https,
action: permit
traslation: nat (default outgoing interface)

being, internet_users, a group of users I created.

When I set up winroute to work as a NON-transparent proxy and I check the connections windows, the only traffic rule that is applied is the one that says "firewall traffic" and when I set up the winroute to work as a TRANSPARENT proxy and I check the connections windows again, now the rule NAT is applied (see attachment). Why is this happening?

With non-transparent proxy (proxy server mode) all local users are communicating with proxy server in KWF. Proxy server will get the query and send it to the Internet. There is no direct connection between local user and Internet server.

In transparent proxy mode (NAT) the direct connection exists.
This is why the traffic rules are applied differently. URL rules in HTTP filter work in both modes same way.

Thanks for replying. Now the other problem is when I set up winroute as a transparent proxy, doesn t let any user to connect to internet.

I have to set up winroute as a non-transparent proxy, open a web browser on the client computer and then set up winroute as a transparent proxy again. Now client can connect to internet using transparent proxy. Why is this happening?
