I am getting a complaint from a Kerio user that Outlook does not notify (show) him when there are new messages in subfolders. All his email is filtered in subfolders of subfolders...

i.e.
under Inbox
Business Contacts
under Business Contacts
John Doe

When a message gets filtered into John Doe, nothing on the parent folders signal that there is a new message in a subfolder.

Can this limitation be overcome? He states that when he used POP3 (with local subfolders) it worked just fine.

That's not possible with the KOC. The difference is when using POP3, the message gets delivered to the inbox, then filtered and moved into another folder. With the KOC, the filtering/moving is done on the server, so it just shows up in the appropriate folder in KOC, and never goes through the inbox.
