Howdy,
I just installed Kerio trial edition 6.4.1 build 3679, I am trying to use the webmail feature and when I log in (sucessfully, of course) I get a very slow response from the browser and as I look in the Kerio Admin Console Logs\error I see the following:

httpserver.cpp: PHP Fatal Error: Call to undefined function: mb_strlen() in /opt/kerio/mailserver/webmail/default/linker/getMessageListC ontent.inc on line 599

I am running Linux Fedora Core 4 and did install the following versions of RPMs for PHP thinking that it would help.
php-5.0.14-10.5.i386.rpm
php-devel-5.0.14-10.5.i386.rpm
php-mbstring-5.0.14-10.5.i386.rpm
php-pear-5.0.14-10.5.i386.rpm
php-xml-5.0.14-10.5.i386.rpm

After install I restarted the keriomailserver and it hasn't helped at all.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I see the following on my filesystem:
/usr/lib/php/modules/mbstring.so and see that the kerio webmail source code includes an extension for mbstring.so, so it's as if kerio just doesn't recognize that it's on the system.

TIA, Kevin

KMS uses it's own internal PHP engine, no need to install separate packages. Might even cause problems.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I was having the same issue before I installed my own PHP version. Any thoughts on why the "internal" PHP engine wouldn't recognize mb_strlen(), seems like a pretty common method amongst the mb_string extensions?

Problem Solved!
Another reboot of the system seemed to have fixed the php mbstring issue.
My webmail is working fine now.
