We are using KMS 6.4.0 and when an email is sent to one of our mailing lists it shows that it's from "<mailing-list name>-owner<_a.t_>domain.com on behalf of <sender<_a.t_>domain.com>" instead of just the sender's address. I understand why it's there but is there a way to get it to show just the senders address as the from address?

That's because mailing list is configured for hiding sender's address. See option "Hide sender's address" in mailing list configuration - http://www.kerio.com/manual/kms/en/ch20s03.html

It's configured to show the sender. The From: header is fine but the Sender header shows "<mailing-list>-owner<_a.t_>agsystems.com" so when you open the email is shows that it is from <mailing-list>-owner<_a.t_>domain.com on behalf of <sender><_a.t_>domain.com. Does that make sense?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread - but this issue still persists for us as well.

The server I'm referring to is presently running KMS 6.6.2 and Entourage 12.1.7.

I now believe what is occurring is the sender listed in the headers is of all mailing list messages is <mailinglist>-owner<_a.t_>domain.com.

Entourage automatically generates a "Recent Address" database on all inbound and outbound messages (separate from the user's address book or directories).

Since the likelihood of users receiving many more messages from the mailing list than sending to it is great - this address is "weighted" more heavily than the lesser mailinglist<_a.t_>domain.com. This is why it always pops up when the user begins to compose a message to the mailing list.

If the "Display a list of recently used addresses when addressing messages" option is turned off, this issue goes away. Having it turned on is the default.

However - MANY of our users use this all the time and would not be pleased with us turning it off.

So - what's the fix? Is there a way to set and have all mailing list messages come *FROM* mailinglist<_a.t_>domain.com and NOT mailinglist-owner<_a.t_>domain.com?

We were never able to change it. Kerio support was no help.
