Hi there,

Does anybody knows of a way to change the ports used by Over The Air Synchronization?

We have a web server as well as the Kerio mail server on our office and therefore we cannot open the port 80 to the Kerio. We have the Https port (443) open with no problem, but can´t open de port 80 because of the web server...

Anybody have an Idea as to how can I make this work?

The web server is an IIS... Could I change the ports on it?

Thank you,

Sure you can change the port of your IIS, see the ISS documentation.

I'm not sure if you can change the Activesync HTTP port. But why would you need to? It is very advisable to not run Activesync over non-secured channels. So use Activesync securely and you won't need port 80. Right?

That may be tru, but I´m unable to run it on httpS... It asks me for a certificate and I´m unable to set ot up on my WM6.0 device!!

Can you help me on that?

This may not be true anymore, but at one time you could not change the port for active sync.

True, you can change it on the IIS server. And you can specify it on the Windows Mobile device. But my Windows mobile device (5.0) ignores the :port and uses the default port #.

It's been a while since I dealt with that problem, perhaps it's no longer the case..?

The manual has a section on setting up self-signed certs on windows mobile devices.

We decided it was cheaper to install a valid cert and allocate a dedicated IP/port 443 than to jack w/it. Too much support time trying to get users phones working.

What happens when you use Pocket IE to navigate to https://youremailserver.com/server.cer ? Does it ask to install the certificate file?

It seems to do it... It asks if we want to do the install and that´s it, but then we can´t access the server anyway.
