Hi

We have just gone onto Daylight Saving at the weekend. We have all the windows updates loaded, and the latest version of Kerio Mailserver loaded. We use Outlook 2000 & Outlook 2003 with the Outlook Connector.

It seems the system has adjusted times in the diary by one hour, yet Kerio states the daylight saving change is supported.

This has been submitted as a ticket, but the only response we have got from support is a couple more questions.

This is causing us a major issue. We have approx 160 users, with a diary which is now practically useless.

Does anyone have an idea as to a solution? (We are in New Zealand).

Hi John,

I don't believe Kerio has ever said that MailServer has been updated for the changes to Daylight Savings in NZ, they did revise for US, Canada etc in v6.3.0.
If you look at the timezones.xml even in the latest 6.4.1patch1 release you can see they are still wrong for NZ.

Check out Kerio knowledgebase article 461 at
http://support.kerio.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=v iewarticle&kbarticleid=461&nav=0,1

I submitted a ticket for this and had the following change (editing timezones.xml as per the knowledgebase) approved by Kerio Support, search for and replace the following section

BEFORE

<zone>
<location>Auckland, Wellington</location>
<stdAbbr>+1200</stdAbbr>
<daylightAbbr>+1300</daylightAbbr>
<stdStart>19700315T030000</stdStart>
<daylightStart>19701004T020000</daylightStart>
<stdRRule>FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=3;BYDAY=3SU</stdRRule>
<daylightRRule>FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=10;BYDAY=1SU</daylightRRule >
<cdoTimeZoneId>17</cdoTimeZoneId>
</zone>

AFTER

<zone>
<location>Auckland, Wellington</location>
<stdAbbr>+1200</stdAbbr>
<daylightAbbr>+1300</daylightAbbr>
<stdStart>19700315T030000</stdStart>
<daylightStart>19701004T020000</daylightStart>
<stdRRule>FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=4;BYDAY=1SU</stdRRule>
<daylightRRule>FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=9;BYDAY=-1SU</daylightRRule >
<cdoTimeZoneId>17</cdoTimeZoneId>
</zone>

You only need to edit the BYMONTH and BYDAY Paramters. You also need to note the comment at the end of the article that existing events need to be edited and resaved to pick up the change, new events will be OK. You should also check that any future updates include the change or you will revert the file (same goes for a reinstall)

Hope this helps.
