pardon the n00bish question here, but i checked the manual, and even searched the forum here, but i just can't find an answer. hopefully someone here can help.

Is is possible to search the body of a message for a string, rather than just the subject?

any help would be much appreciated! Smile

thanks

that's a possibility, however, i was hoping to have it done w/o 4th party software... i don't want to have to explain to my boss how to use (yet another) piece of new software for archive searching... although, anything we get will be better than the nothing we have now... so if we have to live w/ just searching for the subjects for now, so be it...

__EDIT__
the 4th party software being google desktop... Smile
________

Kerio? any plans to implement this in future releases? i think it would be a very nice feature, and i'm sure others would agree...

so i tried using Outlooks integrated "Search Folders for a custom search (searched for "regards" in subject and in message body) in both Outlook using KOC and a outlook in standard mode.

KOC did not find anything in the Archive folder, but one in the sent folder.

standard outlook (pop account) found it in 9 locations.

i'm assuming it's a KOC issue? or is this an issue with Microsoft's proprietary habits?

just an observation. anybody else have luck using the "search folder"?

If I remember correctly, this is a limitation in the KOC that will not able it to search through the body of a message. The new offline mode that everyone is chattering about is supposed to introduce this functionality. If you poke around in the forum here you sould be able to find some previous discussions and solutions.

yeah... i keep looking into that, too.. but from what i can tell, it's been "almost here" for 3 yrs +... although, one of the forums did show screen shots... so we'll see about it... I haven't gone live w/ the server yet... want to make sure it's going to do what we need it to before i spend the money on it.. (sorting by user defined fields in shared contacts is a HUGE one for us).. thanks for the heads up about it being fixed in KOFF (what another forum called it, real name, i dunno)...

at any rate, have you heard if the new release of KMS will allow the functionality for webmail as well? (because that would be handy, as well)
