I'm kind of new to virtual appliances and linux and so not an expert. I already run KMS on my windows box, but I decided I would give virtualization a try via the KMS virtual appliance.

It runs/installs fine, but I'm a bit confused about networking VM's. How do I go about setting up the VM to have it's own IP so that it operates just like a physical server?

Thanks,
Eric

Vmware appliance is configured to get an IP address from DHCP server and virtual network interface is configured to bridge mode. It would work out-of-box with no further configuration.
Otherwise, it is a standard Linux installation.

Got it. I had to figure out how to setup the net adapter to be on the correct subnet which was a vmware thing.

The Network Configuration under the System/Administration menu through the Gnome Desktop makes it easy to enter your ip settings. I've installed appliances where the ip address and other settings have to be set up through the command line.
