Hello All,

I'm new to kerio.
Please is there any real distinction between the administrator account and a user with read/write privileges???

I just took over managing my server (I have read/write privilege).Do i have the same privilege as the administrator (hes the administrator) that created my account???

I feel i don't have enough permission, like seeing a log of forwarded mails.

User with read/write access rights can manage whole KMS configuration, including logs. Administrator account created during installation has also right to edit Public folders and view Archive folders (this right can be set for other users later).

Besides that, any user account can get right to manage other user accounts in the same domain (aka WebAdmin) on Web interface. See http://www.kerio.com/manual/kms/en/ch30s02.html

as long as you have read/write I'd be more inclined to use the Administration Console, last time I checked it's available as a separate download. I don't particularly care for the web based administration. However I do use both. If I'm at a users desk and need to change something I will use the web based interface, but from my desk, I'm either using the administration console or I'm using remote desktop connecting directly to the mail server.

Here's a link to the downloads page http://www.kerio.com/kms_download.html you can download either windows, linux, or Mac based admin consoles.

Sorry to continue an old thread, but further to this discussion...

If I have set up an account with all privileges enabled, is it safe to delete the administrator account? I'm a bit tight on mailbox licenses... Neutral

Just make sure you have an admin user and then you can delete the admin account. I've done it on my server.
