I haven't yet been able to test KMS 6.5, but I see that it mentions use of the Firebird database for mail storage.

Are there any email retention features in 6.5? For example, delete all messages that are over x days old?

The Firebird database is just used on the local machines with the KOFF, not on the server. You would only interact with it through Outlook/KOFF. So if outlook has 'delete messages older then x' functionality: there you go. If not, I guess you can't get the Firebird database to do it either.
