I'm using KMS inside the LAN. An SMTP Server (Postfix) in the DMZ is receiving and forwarding mails. Both are using same LDAP user database. In this case, the SMTP server can refuse mails from outside for unknown users. This is to decrease Spam and Resources.

So far so good.

But now I would like to replace the Postfix server with another KMS.
I can forward an entire domain in KMS, but only if the user is not known on the server. But if I'm using the same user database - How can I forward any mails to the internal mailserver even if the recipients name is known? I do not want to set a forwarding on each user.

Best regards

Harald

I don't believe there is a way to accomplish that with KMS. If both servers use the same LDAP database, both servers will have the same user settings. Assuming LDAP functions the same way the Active Directory integration works, even if you logged on to your DMZ box and set forwarding manually on each account, that setting would be stored in LDAP and affect your LAN server as well.
