We have been using KMS on a Windows 2003 server with good results. However, so far we have only used KMS as a POP3 mail server. For our Calendar Sharing we have been using OfficeCalendar from Lookout software, again with good results.

All of our users are on Windows XP SP2 machines and all use Outlook 2003 with SP3 installed for email.

We would now like to begin using more KMS features. Specifically, Email via the MAPI interface and Calendar Sharing.

Getting Email working via the MAPI Interface has been no problem.

Our problem is getting Calendar Sharing working via the MAPI Interface.

We have been working on getting the Calendar Sharing working with Outlook 2003 for days (no joke) with little success. Webmail is no problem, easy, but getting our Outlook 2003 clients working is a where we are having issues. We have called Kerio for help, but no one at Kerio has returned our calls.

We have tried both the "standard" Kerio Outlook Connector and the new Kerio Outlook Connector with Offline Capabilities (KOFF).

We can get everything working fine in Outlook 2003 with the "standard" Kerio Outlook Connector except for one thing. All of the shared calendars are named "Calendar" in Outlook so you cannot tell which calendar you are actually looking at. I know that this is a known problem because it is all over these forums. I also know that there is not be a fix for this (at least one that is supported by Kerio).

We have also been trying to get the new KOFF working because it is our understanding (from these forums) that the "Calendar" naming issue is fixed for Outlook 2003 in the form of "Calendar of User Name" in this new interface.

Again, we can get everything working perfectly via the Webmail interface. Calendar Sharing, Folder Sharing, etc. But, we cannot get sharing working with Outlook 2003.

How can we get a Shared Calendar to actually appear in an Outlook 2003 client?

We have set up sharing correctly as far as we know. At least the little "open hand" appears under the calendars we are sharing in the Webmail interface. And, the calendars are actually shared between users via the Webmail interface.

We have configured "Mailbox of User Name" in Outlook 2003 via Properties > Folder Mapping > Configure to attach the mailbox of those users who are sharing their calendar.

We CAN set up appointments and meetings from Outlook 2003. The Free/Busy works fine, etc. We just cannot get those shared calendars to actually appear in Outlook 2003.

Sorry for the long email...

Any help would be very much appreciated.

One of the issues turned out to be a known problem which Kerio assisted us with. Several standard Outlook 2003 Add-In's needed to be turned off.

However, other issues being reported in the debug log of KOFF relating to MAPI communications were not able to be resolved by Kerio.

Consequently, we have stopped our testing of KOFF and judged the product unsuitable for our production use.

We will test again in several months to see if the next Patch corrects the issues we experienced.

Not sure what your problem is, but we use the shared calendar on Outlook across around 6 machines + web mail calendar sharing and via Windows Mobile 5 PDA's with 99.9% success rate. The calendar naming is a pain but the offline version DOES resolve this. Stick with the testing, it DOES work.

Thank you for you response.

Our experience is this:
KOFF has issues with Calendar Sharing via Outlook. And, Kerio themselves were unable to resolve these issues.

We spent time on the telephone with Kerio and traded multiple emails regarding our trouble ticket without success.

We wish it had turned out differently. We had high hopes for the product and look forward to testing again in the future.
