Hello:

I am following the Kerio Mailserver User Guide to attempt to connect my iCal client to my Kerio server, but unfortunately get the following error when I try to add my account info:

Account information not found

Unexpected secure name resolution error (code -9813). The server name postoffice.go-abs.com may be incorrect.

This error makes no sense, since I can connect just fine to the webmail portal through the same URL.

Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

DP,

No worries, these questions may seem basic. But want to make sure the basics are covered.

1) Make sure your username is user<_a.t_>domain. Not just user.

2) Account URL should be: https://postoffice.go-abs.com/caldav

Hey Mike:

Still no luck - even with the URL you sent. I've verified my firewall rules, etc. I am assuming all I need to pass through it to the Kerio server is HTTPS or HTTP traffic, right?

DP,

Correct, ports 80 and 443, HTTP and HTTPS, respectively.

Confirm in the Kerio Admin Console that HTTP and Secure HTTP are running on those ports.

Hey Mike:

I was probably checking all of the stuff you listed as you were writing it Smile. Actually - I think I figured it out. I am having a certificate issue with the server - I used a GoDaddy cert that has an intermediate cert that needs to be added to my Mac.

I figured this out by using HTTP instead of HTTPs. If you know how I can fix my Mac cert issue, I'd be greatful.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Mike:

My client is Mac 10.5.1 and the server is Windows 2003 Standard Server. The problem is definitely a certificate problem on the Mac side...

DP,

Typically there is no cert installation needed on the client side.

If you wish, we may be able to walk you through it ....

Live chat us on our website if you wish.

What happens if you visit the webmail via https://emailserver ?

Safari should give a message about the certificate not being recognized if there's a problem and then you can click "Show certificate" and click Trust Settings, and Trust Always.

That "should" work.

I have having this >exact< problem. Also using a GoDaddy certificate. Installed the intermediary cert per instructions found on this site. Still no luck. Would you be willing to walk me through it?

Hey Seano:

I wish I could, but never fixed it at the server level; I told users to simply view the certificate from the Mail.app warning window, then hit the "Accept Permanently" option on the subsequent dialog.

Once the cert was permanently accepted, iCal could attach just fine.

I wish there was a better fix than this...I suppose I could load the GoDaddy intermediate cert to all workstations, but that makes my head spin trying to figure out how I could do that.

Sorry; wish I had a better answer for you.

Good luck.
