My mailserver receives messages at many code pages (character sets, encodings - what is more exactly?) - ISO-8859-5, KOI8-R, Windows-1251, UTF-8. All of them are showed in web-interface correctly (with any of my Russian *.def files in all of these code pages and UTF-8 checked or not) except messages in KOI8-R: these messages displays correctly only if selected *.def file contains "EKOI8-R" and UTF-8 is unchecked, but in this (and only) mode all other messages are looks incorrectly. Also, SpamAssasin always marks messages in KOI8-R as spam.

Which mechanism is used in webmail to convert the message into code page that is customized in selected *.def file or into UTF-8 (if it checked)?

How to hint it if the code page is unspecified in message?

How can I install the additional KOI8-R support at my Windows 2000 server?

I have read "Which encoding types..." at Knowledgebase :)
The KOI8-R is not supported by KMS. Is there a way to solve this problem?
Should I use a SMTP proxy that will convert messages of this encoding into supported one?
