howdy

i am wanting to change the autoreply default from 7 days down to 1 day for 1 of the users

is this possible thru the admin console... or do you still need to "hack" the server

would be nice if this was a feature within the admin console to be able to set this on a user by user basis

thanks in advance

You can achieve this, but not with the normal Out of Office rule. This is how you can do it:

Go into Webmail and turn off the normal OOO rule.
Go into Mail Filters (in Webmail) and create a new rule using the 'wizard'. Set it to respond to all messages with an auto reply. Enter your OOO text as the auto reply text. Do not set the 'stop processing more rules'.
Back in the rule list, make sure this new rule is at the top of the list.
Then select this rule and use the 'Edit Script' button. Change the part that says ':days 7' into ':days 1' and then senders will receive back a message once per day instead of once per week.

worked a treat... thanks

just a quick amendment to your method.... you must login to webmail as "full-featured" and NOT "simplified" for the settings options to be available

thanks again.. HUGE help

This should absolutely be a system admin setting for the default out of office rule for EVERYONE, or if you want to bring to the user level that is fine too. However, trying to get 60 individuals to do this when they leave the office is impossible. Waiting 7 days for a new out of office is ridiculous, why even have it at that point. Most of my users are using Outlook anyways, and honestly most haven't even seen kerio, so to get them to log into to kerio, setup a rule, and then edit the HTML?Java code is absurd don't you think???

This should be a system setting.

Thanks,
