Hi,

I was searching for an replacement of our MS Exchange-based
Mailsystem. The Kerio Mail Server is the most interesting alternative
that I've found until now.
But I have still a few questions after installing the trial version:

1.
Is there an option to keep emails which where collected by POP3 on
the POP3-Server?
I've only found some posts on the board from 2004 where someone already
requested this feature and it is a really basic feature I think.

2.
I've also tested adding contacts (by web interface), but when I fill in
a birth date, there is no entry within the calendar. Is there anything
special to set, so that birthdays are shown within the calendar?

Thanks in advance,
CS

This is more a function of the Client software, advance settings usualy provide a way to keep emails in the server for X number of days. If you wanted to keep emails in the server, guess one could forward the email AND also keep a copy on the server--this would copy all email to another email account, options, options.

Not sure about your #2

Thanks,

but some employees wish to have only one Webmail-Interface
for all their mails and others would still want to have the
possibility to view mails at their eMail-Providers Webmail too...

For example Yahoo-Mail you've got the choice to use the
POP3-Service OR to pass on emails to another address
(without saving them at the Yahoo-Mail) but not both.
So that if I would use Kerio Mail Server, either way
the Mails would no longer be available within Yahoo-Mail.

The easiest way would be, that the Kerio Mail Server only
gets the mails by POP3 and keeps them on the Server so everyone
got the option to also use (in this example) the Yahoo-Interface.

No, it's not possible to leave mail on the server after POP3 retrieval. There are still people requesting that, but nothing yet.

It's bad enough they're spending time on personal mail, but to download it and serve it to them along with work mail is a bad idea. For so many reasons, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of downloading personal mail.
