We've got kerio 6.5 up and running and it's working great. We've got shared calendars between all our staff and those work great. What we can't seem to do is color the shared calendars so they're different for each user. iCal doesn't let you change the color option. Is that something we can set server side? If so, where?

In order to change calendar's color in iCal you must have read-write access to that calendar. After you choose different color, you can change calendar back to read-only access. Please note that selected calendar color will be common for all users sharing this particular calendar.

Have each user right-click on their own calendar and select Get-Info. You can change the colors there.

The only reasonable way to distinguish calendars amongst users in iCal is color coding with a different color for each user. One can deselect all "Delegates" and then select calendars one at a time to see another's calendar, but this way isn't user friendly at all.

Trying to coordinate colors for each individual calendar across a large number of users is ridiculous.

Kerio really needs to figure out a way to allow color settings for a delegate calendar to be set and managed on each client machine, not as an inherited attribute from the server. There is no reason that I can think of to force colors to server settings.

Add me to the list on this. Coming from an old but very sizable Now Up To Date calendar server. They did the colors on the client side, so everyone could do their own color scheme.
Hopefully another upgrade will give us the OPTION to have server colors or clients controlled colors. So for now, everyone is black text on white background and select users get a special color.

visiting an old topic but as we just started using CalDAV ourselves, this has become annoying. It's difficult to try and coordinate with people on what color they can use that no one else is using. So far we've just deselected most calendars and then then select them as we need to see them. Becomes annoying when trying to schedule appointments around several people though.

For just scheduling multiple people, add them to the attendees box and then use the "Available Meeting Times" feature.

For right now, that is the only surefire and quickest way to find a common time that is open for all.
