Hi,

I would like to make daredevil thing - a kerio mail server high avability cluster at linux.
Two servers - through the WAN (5mbps), about 50 users, about 10 000 messages per week.
Maybe sb has any experience connected with this. I think about http://www.drbd.org/, for doing this.

Thanks for any tips.

Best regards,

What we have tested and worked :

1st Config

KMS HOST ONE LINUX ----Local Storage Disk
KMS HOST TWO LINUX ----Local Storage Disk

Use mutimodal replication system (Unison) to replicate the data between both KMS mail repository.

2nd config :

KMS HOST ONE LINUX ------ iScsi or SANFC volume mapped
KMS HOST TWO LINUX ------ Stand-by

On failure : attach host repository on standby server

For better fault tolerance : 1 volume per host with mirror copy provided by SAN attached volumes
Use DNS to attach client to servers

Thanks, as I guess that 1st config has concurent access? (sth about user can connect to both servers, and it is ballanced by DNS TTL or sth?). Did you replicate whole data (with queue?) or just mailstorage?

I am testing the configuration:

1st server:
linux with KMS
drdb to make a raid 1 with two nodes (contains: 1st and 2nd server (dualprimary mode))
at drdb drive ocfs2 filesystem (for concurent access)

2nd server
linux with KMS
drdb as a second primary node
at drdb drive ocfs2 filesystem

I do not test it fo a big mail load, but syncing the queue is in my opinion bad way, because it make some data corruption. But not syncing the queue can make a situation that two mailservers would like to make the same filename for the different message. But I do not have enought tools to make such a big mail load (maybe any ideas?)
