I have two IP addresses from different networks on one card and source routing to work correctly when one of networks is dead. System is VMWare apliance from Kerio site with Fedore Core 6.

All work correctly for IMAP,POP3 and other services when one of network is dead. But it seems like EMail Delivery from KMS to distination SMTP servers works only from the first IP. It does not try to deliver emails using second IP address as source. Is it BUG in KMS?

So how to do KMS use second IP to deliver mails to external SMTP servers?

Best Regards,
Igor Arsenin

If you want to use multiple NICs and have traffic go outbound over each, you need to setup a NLBFT (Network Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance) team. When you do this, you normally end up with a virtual NIC with one IP address which goes to all of your NIC's, inbound and outbound.

I means that smtp relay servers I have worked before (for example IIS) try to create connection from second and so on IP address as source if it has problem with first IP and so on. It is not problem of system but behaviour of SMTP relay server. I have problem with outgoing connections. I have no problems with incoming connections like IMAP, incoming SMTP when one of networks is dead. I have source routing activated. So if connection created from different IP sources than they go using different gateways to different networks (providers).
