Hi there!

We have some trouble with the Windows-RTF-Mails with embedded pictures sent to us via Outlook 2008.

When the “decoding of TNEF messages”-option is disabled, the emails are viewable as plain text. The pictures seems to be lost. A file with the name winmail.dat is attached.

In contrast, after enabling the TNEF decoding, the Emails are shown in Apple mail like this

{\rtf1\adeflang1025\ansi\ansicpg1252\uc1\adeff0\deff0\stshfd bch0\stshfloch0\stshfhich0\stshfbi0\deflang1031\deflangfe103 1\themelang1031\themelangfe0\themelangcs0{\fonttbl{\f0\fbidi \froman\fcharset0\fprq2{\*\panose 02020603050405020304}Times New Roman;}{\f34\fbidi \froman\fcharset0\fprq2{\*\panose 02040503050406030204}Cambria Math;}{\f37\fbidi \fswiss\fcharset0\fprq2{\*\panose 020f0502 ...

In Entourage, Thunderbird,... the same email is shown as a plain, unformated text, but the pictures seems to be lost too. There are no files attached to this kind of emails we get, when the TNEF-Decoder is enabled. Neither the winmail.dat nor something else.

Is it possible to show/extract embedded pictures and attachments out of RTF-Mails under OS X? The Kerio-TNEF-Decoder doesn't seems to work correctly. The only thing we get is the winmail.dat-file, when the decoder is disabled.

Does anybody else have this problem? ...or a solution?

I don't have a solution, but I can verify you're not the only one to have this problem.
