Took version 5.1.10 for a testdrive last Sunday.

With the HTTP protocol inspector enabled, web browsing on clients is so slow that I suspect this might be a malfunction.

As I understand the protocol inspector has to be selected in the 'services-tab' to allow antivirus and Cobion checking.
Normal web browsing with the protocol inspector enabled is not possible. Everything is logged and categorized OK.
I did an online throughput speedtest on a client: download was as usual (106kbit/sec) BUT upload dropped from a normal 52 kbit/sec to 3 kbit/sec!!)

Browsing on the host itself is fast enough/normal

This is the setup:
DSL connected 'host'computer (Celeron 2200, 512MB memory)
DSL line 1024/512 mbit
w2k pro SP4
Traffic rules generated with no restrictions.
This host was used with standard Windows ICS enabled (unchecked it before installing KWF)

It's weird that the clients are so slow and the host seems normal.

Any ideas?
Regards!
Erwin.

You need to uninstall and reinstall TCP/IP if you used ICS on a Windows 2000 machine in the past. ICS does not remove itself cleanly on any operating system before Window XP. If the WinRoute machine was Windows XP then disabling ICS and rebooting would be enough.

This is it!
Didn't think it was the issue here since the setup worked. Just very slow...
So when ICS is just disabled it doesn't cause errors but bad performance.

Maybe something to mention in a setup guide.

Thanks!
Erwin.
