The more I read and test downloading of pop3 accounts
defined on other ISP's i'm getting confused

I see 3 kind of email accounts

1) generic domain accounts

all emails going to xxx<_a.t_>comp.yyy are directed to my email server and I hope to receive the respective mail in
the individual xxx accounts

I suppose this is what is meanth with using sorting rules
x-enveloped to ...
The xxx<_a.t_>comp.yyy is defined in the individual user accounts and ....

2) Induvidual accounts, using a set of alias Emails

the xxx<_a.t_>ISP.com is translated using the sort rules
to the proper account

do I use the Received or delivered option here ????

I do not understand the difference in this context ???

does received mean the (TO) email account ??? sean from the
ISP pop box ?
and the deliverd ? then is that the generic account
independent of the used alias email ???

The latter one I consider the individual accounts of the third kind .....
I guess,... it does not matter then what soring rule is to be applied the mail is directly forwarded to a single account

But why the difference between received and delivered then

Can anyone please expain
