Hi Guys,

I want to set up Kerio mail server to run on a linode. (www.linode.com)

The linode runs CentOS 5.2 which is supported by Kerio and I want to administer the mail server from my Mac laptop.

Has anyone done this before or any experience in doing this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dave.

I did it for a year and a half on a Fedora Core 6 box with no problems. I finally outgrew the linode's capacity and they don't scale well from the $$$ standpoint. I bought my own XServe and raid array and planted it in a local datacenter.

Running KMS on a headless/GUI-less linode will be a learning experience for sure.

I think I should just get an Xserve too! Be a lot easier.

True, but XServes have higher upfront costs than a linode. If I was going to do it again I would probably get a linux server in the datacenter. XServes are expensive, and KMS runs just as well on Linux.

What specifically is your question?

I have a LiNode, but haven't used it for Kerio. I have run Kerio on a VPS without issue.

Other than a few DNS (for reverse lookups) changes I don't see a problem. Is this box for testing purposes or production?

For production I'd want dedicated hardware, but that's me.

There is a Kerio admin console for Mac which works fine. I run that on my MacBook Pro to administer my KMS boxes running CentOS (4.7-5.2).
