Did you by any chance include the users in a group which can only send/receive mail to/from its own domain?

Is your MX record pointing to the mail server's DNS A-record? Did you get any error message in your Hotmail inbox after sending the test message? Give us some clues ... Smile

Hotmail eventually refuses to deliver mail if your MX and PTR records don't match. In the mean time, it throws a soft error (4.x.x) and tries later in case it's a temprary DNS error.

Problems with mail reception and mail delivery is almost always because of DNS. If the three things below aren't set up, you'll likely experience what seems like random errors when sending and receiving:

* A-record for the mail server's public IP
* MX-record for the domain. Must contain the aforementioned A-record
* Reverse DNS (PTR record) for the A-record

The PTR record must be set up by the people who lent you the IP address, and if the IP isn't static, you'll probably not get them to do it.

Some mail servers don't like dynamic addresses. So it could be that your dynamic address range is on a blacklist or your PTR record doesn't exist.

Try to get a static IP address or host your mails on the ISPs mail server and retrieve them via POP.
