Hey Ollie,

1. What is HIPS?!

2. If I remember rightly, when I first set up my Firewall (also remotely) there was an option for me to whitelist my IP address before it went off and installed everything, so you should be okay!

Cheers,
Oli

Kerio Winroute Firewall is a perimeter network firewall. I guess you're looking for another type of firewall (personal/server/application). In such case, KWF might not be the perfect solution for you.

hi, sorry about being late on reply

HIPS = Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System

endpoint Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, Operating System Security and Application Control capabilities

Kerio seems to be a firewall, DNS, proxy type of perimeter firewall, is that what you mean?
