I have been looking for a replacement of our Sonicwall firewall for quite some time now. I like Kerio, it is logical to use, and user friendly.

I am just wondering if this is possible. We currently have all our internet users passing through a SQUID proxy out to the internet. The SQUID proxy logs are read by a program called Papcut and Papercut deducts usage from the users accounts. If the user runs out of money the students are removed from the active directory group "internetusers" and lose their internet access within two minutes [ie the next time NTLM authentication is refreshed.]

So it appears I can make Kerio act as a proxy which is great, I see that I can also set the log format to SQUID, which is also great. My question is, if I share the logs with Papercut and papercut continues to calculate usage and remove users from a group will Kerio be able to detect when a user is in and out of an access group? ie. refresh.

Kerio seems to do all that I want, load balancing of two or more links, NAT, AV. I am just a little hesitant about stability and security seeing that Kerio resides on a Microsoft box/server.
Comments? Suggestions?
