Some of our Outlook 2003 users are now experiencing an error when they try to start Outlook.

Unable to open your default e-mail folders. 0x8004010f: MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND

I can manually set a different account in KOFF and it works OK. I also tried one of the failing accounts on a different PC, and it still fails.

I tried the suggestion at the end of this thread but didn't help:
http://forums.kerio.com/index.php?t=msg&th=14879&S=f 34b209d92753f632077a9617f2dbd30#msg_59399

Also have tried...

- creating a new Outlook profile
- un-installing and re-installing KOFF

Also found these messages in the debug.log file...

I've been in contact with Kerio tech support since yesterday and am waiting a reply, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, and how you fixed it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello,

I've got exact the same error as you mentioned, also with Office 2003 (with all patches and SP's installed).

Allready tried a lot of things, nothing does do the trick.

I've informed the Dutch Helpdesk of Kerio, and they contacted the Kerio techs about my problem.

Hopefully I get a respons quickly.

Greetz Webbie...

I had the same issue not so long ago personally.

Outlook 2003 or 2007 had the same issue after a Exchange to Kerio migration.

Create a new Kerio account let's say "backup". Delete the user which you have problem with and tell Kerio to transfert the account to "backup".

Once done long into backup with Outlook to download all the info on a computer and create a PST file from it.

Re-Create the user account and upload back all the information.

KMS1 6.7.2: Xserve 10.5.8 - 150 users
KMS2 6.7.2: Xserve 10.5.8 - 50 users
KMS3 6.7.2: Xserve 10.5.8 - 10 users/MX BackUp
KMS4 Beta: Xserve 10.5.8 - MX BackUp2
iPhone/WindowsMobile/Blackberry/Nokia

KWF Beta: HP DL380 on ESXi 4.0 - 60 users

Yes, that is basically the solution Kerio suggested, and it is the only one that works for me so far.

What I do is...

1. Create a temporary account in KMS
2. Stop the mail server, move the items to the temp account, start server.
3. Create a new Outlook profile
4. Add an IMAP connection to the temporary account
5. Copy items from the temp account to the target account

For non-mail items I share the folders and then use Webmail to copy them over.

I think it might be related to when a system is "upgraded" from the Kerio Outlook Connector to the the Kerio Off-line connector.

It just happened to another of our systems (I think this is the seventh or eighth one now?) after manually installing the Kerio Off-line connector a few days after the system had upgraded the KOC (non-offline) to 6.7.

I was able to fix one account this way...

1. Stop mail server
2. Delete the folder "__Keriomapi_STORE"
3. Delete the file "specguid.fld"
4. Move #deleted and all files (not folders) out of the user's account
5. Start mail server
6. Create new profile

We had this Problem as well, and after about 3 hours of testing with help from Kerio Support. We narrowed it down to old "Outbox" folders on server left over from when our users where on KOC, not KOFF. pure KOFF users do not have outboxes in the msg store, it is stored locally.

I found a way to fix without stopping the mailserver. At least it has worked 5 times so far.

Del outbox from msg store.
Do an empty cache from the Repair tab on the KOFF configuration window.

open outlook.

that is it.

So you're saying to

1. Stop mail server
2. Delete the file "specguid.fld"
3. Start mail server
4. Create new profile

This does not work. I still get a 0x800f010f: MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND error as soon as Outlook opens. It's still got the Configuring Outlook window open with "Configuring Outlook Accounts" highlighted. Every user I put on a machine with a fresh install of Outlook 2003 and KOFF has this problem.

The only thing I've found that works is to:
1. Move all of the user's data into a PST file using KOC
2. Delete their account
3. Restart the Kerio MailServer service
4. Re-create the user's account
5. Import their data from the PST

I really don't have the time any more to keep moving these people's gigabytes of data into and out of PST files. Not only do I lose a few hours every time I run into this, the user basically can't use their machine while Outlook is bogged down moving all of this data. Where's the fix?

Yes !! That indeed did the trick, KOFF is now perfectly working. All other tips in this topic didn't work for me but these simple steps worked perfectly.

Cheers!

Few days ago i got similar errors on a client pc, try this:

1. close outlook
2. goto c:\windows\system32
3. find mapi32.dll, rename it to mapi32.old
4. find fixmapi.exe in the c:\windows\system32 folder and run it

Then retry.
