Hello.

I am looking for a solution of the following problem:
Some of our client-mailboxes are accessed via IMAP.

As our clients push the delete button too quickly or
mess up something different on a regular base,
I want them to have a spare-backup of their mails for
let's say 7 days.

My try to forward those messages to different accounts
with quotas and/or with auto-prun of Spam/Trash enabled
doesn't satisfy, because if the backup-msg-box is full
the messages don't get pruned for the new ones forwarded.

Auto-prun for Junk/Trash isn't enough as noone manages those
backup-accounts and the messages stay in inbox.

So, ideas anyone?

Thanks for input.

Just for the records…

I am doing the following now:
  • forward all mails of IMAP-users to a backup-mailbox and deliver to both mailboxes
  • the backup-mailbox has a filter rule to put all mails into deleted items folder
  • enabled items-cleanout of the backup-mailbox after 7 days for the deleted items

If anyone comes up with a better solution,
I would be thankful for some input.
