Hello, i have a client law office and they are wondering how to send encrypted email to customer to keep the confidentiality of clients.

Is there a EASY way for them to do that and how?

Thank you!

AFAIK, the easier and cheaper way to encrypt emails is to do it on the client-side and leave the server away. Your customer could get some X509-certificates like those offered for free by Thawte. Of course, his customers would have to go the same way.

I played around a little with S/MIME based encryption and signing of emails and it all works very nice with either Apple Mail, Entourage or Thunderbird.
Since KMS itself does not offer any kind of encryption (at least that I know of), a server-side solution would involve some kind of appliance or additional gateway for this task. I figure that could be pretty expensive, depending on requirements and the correspondents of your customer still had to deal with certificates etc. So end to end encryption seems more reasonable to me.

Have a lootk at www.thawte.com or www.comodo.com for their free offers.

There is no EASY/simple way to do this with absolutely security.
Encrypting/decrypting should be easy. The problem is in keeping it secure from the wrong people. You have an encryption key or password that you have to get to the other side so they can see the encrypted stuff and you don't want the wrong people to have it. You want to keep a password easy to remember but you don't want others to find it or guess it.
You should take a quick look at a document called "Why Johnny Can't Encrypt". Google for it.

You didn't say what platform you are using.
Besides those suggested by others, you can also look at PGP and the free GnuPG available for *nix, windows, AppleThere are packaged versions of GnuPG with extra stuff for interfacing with email clients, web browsers, etc:
