I have installed Oracle database on one of the windsows 2008 servers on our local network. I also have a windows XP pc on the same network that I want to communicate with the Oracle server from. Oracle provides com port 1521 for this pupose so I set up a traffic policy as follows.

source: LAN
destination: LAN/FIREWALL
service: TCP 1521
action: permit
log: blank
translation: MAP

it's not working.

I've also written traffic policy for the same server for remote desktop and http but they both work with no problem.

Can you please tell me how I might over come this problem?
