In the manual it says "If you are mapped from Active Directory or Apple Open Directory, the entire LDAP database is synchronized every hour automatically.". Is there an interface to this schedule? I would like to be able to force this synchronization whenever I need too instead of having to wait for its next scheduled sync.

I would like this because whenever a new user is added it takes a while for their address to be available for use in the GAL.

This type of forced synchronization can be done in Exchange so I am wondering if it can be done in Kerio.

I'd also like this to be an option available via the GUI.

To further complicate things the current manual now contains a much less specific summary.

"If you use an external LDAP database outside Kerio MailServer (e.g. an LDAP database in Active Directory or Apple Open Directory), it can be subscribed to Kerio MailServer and then its contacts can be synchronized to the Global Contacts public folder in a single direction."

For what it's worth, this value can be changed via the variable GalSyncInterval inside mailserver.cfg.
<table name="Gal">
  <variable name="GalEnabled">1</variable>
  <variable name="GalSyncInterval">60</variable>

I would have thought the inclusion of a GUI option to simply poll the directory server would have been a no-brainer.

Thanks for the info. Since some process runs every hour to do the sync I would think a button could be added to the GUI so I could force that process to run when I clicked the button.

Since I don't know what affect a change to the sync interval will have on the system for now I will change the sync interval to 30.

Again thanks for the info.
