I use to had a test server running directly with the Linux version, config went all smooth and everything worked great.

We decided to push further test and setup a new server in ESXi.... now there no way i can get the good hostname running.

I only get: "machinename"
instead of" machinename.mydomain.com"

Which was working fine under the linux version a test server....

I saw in the manual i have to change it in "advance option"

Even if i do in the hosts files i only get: "127.0.0.1 localhost machinename"
Same same configuration on a standalone Linux machine instead of ESXi VM i get "127.0.0.1 localhost machinename.mydomain.com"

Even i do change it manually at restart it come back to what it was.
Right now i have cheated the system so i have a redirect when "machinename" is requested it get redirect but it really piss me off.

Both configuration are EXACTLY the same.

NIC1 (internet):
IP Adress: 62.193.38.173
Submask: 255.255.255.248
Gateway: 62.193.38.169
DNS: 62.193.32.2;62.193.33.3

NIC2 (lan):
IP Adress: 192.168.10.1
Submask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.10.1;62.193.32.2;62.193.33.3 (i have tested without DNS, without the local IP DNS and without IPS DNS)

DHCP Configuration:
Gateway: 192.168.10.1
DNS: 192.168.10.1;62.193.32.2;62.193.33.3
Adress Range: 192.168.10.5 - 192.168.10.254
Hostname: machinename.mydomain.com

Right now am exhausted..... everything else work, i need to start implementation quite fast......

Thanks!
