Is it possible to log in to a normal user account with either the admin or a master password set somewhere or am I thinking of another mailserver?

It would be really convenient if a not-so-techy helper could be given a password to use when i'm not there and someone forgets theirs... so they can log in and change the password...
And of course when troubleshooting so I don't have to look up the acct. password the end users computer remembers for them!

Yeah, this kind of masqurade as user feature would be great. Don't think it's possible in the current verison, though.

In that case I'll make a feature request and ask anyone else interested to please do the same!

In the past I've logged into other accounts by temporarily changing the changing the Authentication type under the users' properties to "Internal user database" and assigning a temp password. Log in as them to do whatever it is you need to do and then change the authentication source back.

Check your Mailconfig file...

AdminCanLogonAsAnyUser

Probably best to try in a test environment... (and always edit that file when the server is "stopped")

Cheers,
D.

This configuration option has a special and reserved purpose. It does not do what you want.

Is it just me or does that sound slightly worrying? ^.^

What? You mean it sends everything to NSA, KGB and Stasi? Very Happy
The option is probably used in the process of migrating from e.g. Exchange (master authentication).
