I have installed a demo version of the latest Kerio Mail Server and want to get rid of Exchange and of Entourage on the Mac, keeping Outlook on PCs.
Kerio runs on Windows Server 2003, access via the web interface and via Outlook on a PC runs fine but I'm unsure if mail can be stored centrally on the server rather than on a local PST on each PC. I don't like local PCS as I check my mail from a multitude of computers and I don't want local copies ecverywhere.
On the Mac I haven't succeeded connecting, at least not with iCal. Do I have to set up a Exchange 2007 connection? Server doens't respond. I can connect Mail via Exchange IMAP but my iCal gives an error in that case. I installed Kerio Sync Connector but probably not the 64 version. What do I have to download on a Mac and what are the crucial settings?
What I need:
check mail on the Mac with Snow Leopard Mac
check iCal on the Mac with Snow Leopard Mac
share a calender on the Mac with Snow Leopard Mac
synchronize with an iPhone (I don't expect any problems here)
Thanks for pointing me in the good direction. My grace period goes until Jan 9 but I'm leaving on holiday on December 19th so I don't have much time to check everything and see if Kerio matches what I need without using Entourage.
Please note I'm a beginner on the Mac (switcher)
