Hello there,

my users noticed (and I'm able to reconstruct it) the following behavior of Outlook 2003SP3 with Kerio Online Connector against the most recent 6.7 Kerio Mailserver (running on Debian Lenny):

When typing something in the "Find" bar, it does not alwas find what it's supposed to.

If I, for example, type "gmx" in the search field, it'll only show me messages which have "gmx" in the sender's name and the subject - but it doesn not look for "gmx" in the e-mail address. If I type "gmx.de", it works just as expected and shows me every e-mail that has "gmx.de" in the sender address and/or name and/or subject.

Same goes for Advanced Search. Full text search seems to work quite well.

Now I don't know how that Find bar works in general - does Outlook create an index of its own or does it search server-side, using Kerio's search index (which works absolutely fine within the webmail interface) via the Connector? If the first, it might be an Outlook issue and I'd have to ask in an Outlook help forum - if the latter, is there any hint on how to bring Kerio to work more "regex-like", i.e. looking for the search expression within the whole message header rather than making this weird differenciation?

Regards
Nico
