A single Mac end user on my server has the following problem:

When messages arrive in his INBOX, they sit there for a few seconds, then move automatically to his Deleted Items folder.

I can't find the cause. Happens with all client-side Mail.app rules off. Happens with his iPhone, which also checks this account, off. Happens in the web interface for his account, with all other client software off.

I've stopped the server, renamed his INBOX index.fld file, and restarted the server, to no avail.

I've stopped the server, renamed his entire INBOX, and restarted the server, to no avail.

Any ideas?

Look into the Operations log to find out which client is deleting/moving the email.

Heh, thanks for the pointer. From the operations log entries, I was able to prove to the end user that the deletions were being done by an IMAP client on his home network, where he was sooooo sure that nothing was running. Problem solved.
