Hello

Trying to see if I can change the SMTP banner that is provided on SMTP requests without changing the host name of the kerio server. We have a kerio server in a small business that answers to the name "kerio.whatever.local" but the MX record for the server is "mail1.whatever.com" ...

It is only flagged as a warning by mxtoolbox.com but client tells me that some of their recipients report mail in the spam folders ... they are not on any blacklists and the mails are not mailshots and i suspect that it is googles adoption of the SPF1 checks that are the real culprit (i am going to set the DNS today ... the recipients that the client has reported issues with have all been google apps/google mail ...)

But I would like to be able to provide the client with a "look its perfect" setup .... so changing the SMTP banner would be good

220 kerio.whatever.local Kerio MailServer 6.7.3 ESMTP ready

Thanks in advance

Just change the "Internet hostname" under

Configuration > Domains

This topic has been created 6 years ago, so the solution might not apply to your new version of Kerio Connect.

What is the exact problem you are encountering?

result of mxtoolbox.com for webmail.cm-vagos.pt:

SMTP Banner Check: Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

Problem is that a DNS reverse lookup of your IP address (213.228.163.98) results in

srv-cm-vagos.netvisao.pt

So you either have to ask you ISP to change the reverse lookup in DNS to match

webmail.cm-vagos.pt

or you have to change the Internet Host name in Kerio Connect to

srv-cm-vagos.netvisao.pt
