Hello,

I am working in a company with about 20 people and we are using Keerio Mail Server 6.6.0 patch 1.
Sometimes, like today, we cannot receive external e-mails.
We didn´t change anything with the system, but suddenly we cannot receive e-mails for 3-4 hours. After that period, we can receive e-mails normally.
But the e-mails which came during this period aren´t delayed, they get completely lost. And this mustn´t happen in a company!

Who can help???

Hi,
The information provided is little.

- Is the internet working.... in/out
- Is the server behind a firewall, any entry's in its log?
- can you ping to your mailserver (telnet) in a period of not receiving files
- etc
etc

-For backup / fail-over for your emails you must make a second email server out of the office or on a other internet line.
Make this second server higher MX record, so it works like a backup (this is described in the help file).
Your Internet service provider could also make your backup email server at his location.

Hi,

thank you for your fast answer.

Well, I´m not the person in charge, but no one is feeling responsible for this problem here....
The internet is working in both directions, that´s not the problem.
Well, you gave some hints, I think I should discuss them internally.
Thank you so far Smile

I would get someone to check your setup!

Maybe your ISP connection is breaking - a ISP firewall doing bad stuff?

Can you email to a 'echo bot' address? echo<_at_>tu-berlin.de is a great one!

Are you on a dedicated line, DSL, other? Is the server local or hosted...

What's the domain name? So we can check!

Well,

Here's a bit free help:

MX records in DNS:
;; ANSWER SECTION:
maenken.com. 86400 IN MX 20 mail02.pironet-ndh.com.
maenken.com. 86400 IN MX 20 mail01.pironet-ndh.com.

;; ANSWER SECTION:
mail01.pironet-ndh.com. 86400 IN A 194.64.31.10
;; ANSWER SECTION:
mail02.pironet-ndh.com. 86400 IN A 195.94.95.80

Both servers respond to SMTP connections, so that should be fine...

I think you should contact the company, that your mail goes through (SPAM / Virus check?) http://www.pironet-ndh.com/
and ask what is going on with your mail!

PS: The echo address at the Tech Uni in Berlin should give you a details reply within a minut or less, if the system is working as it should!
