One of my clients has migrated from Exchange 2003 to Kerio (on 1. January, v6.7.3, now KC7). Migration worked perfect, all fine. They also moved from Entourage 2004 to AppleMail (Exchange Account), iCal (CalDAV) and Addressbook (KSC) on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
All 12 users would like to use one Addressbook, located on the Public Folder on the Server with about 2500 contacts. I set up KSC to sync with "Contacts" (User specific) and a ContactFolder in "Public". One user is taking care of all these contacts and makes Groups, changes in Telephone Numbers, Notes etc. and after a sync, all other users get the changes in their Addressbook.app on the Mac. After a couple of weeks, we discovered, that a lot of contacts are messed: Names, Addresses, eMail-Adresses, Phone numbers are disordered from one contact to an other. And these are contacts who never get a manual change from the user. I think, they get corrupted by sync with KSC maybe...?
So this is not a solution for me to use contacts in PublicFolder. How manage other companies their Public Contacts? Or is everyone using his own Addressbook and has to do the changes by himself? I look for a easy solution to have one PublicFolder with contacts that every user can use and one user can make changes.
In comparison to Entourage with Exchange you can open a Contact folder of another user for using and make changes if you have access rights. This is very easy and nothing get messed.
Sorry about this long text, but my english is not very good and I thought that I tell here the whole story, maybe for finding a perfect solution.

Best regards.
Marc.

Hmmm, 400 Clicks but no answer or input how other companies handles their public contacts?

Hi,

have this with two customers, too. One syncs his own ~300 addresses, the other one syncs ~10.000 addresses. Disastrous.

Both contact sources were mingled with addresses that came from an Exchange server. CardDAV, in particular together with groups, seems to cause this problem more often than Kerio Sync Connector.

Going back to all addresses in the public folders, everyone has read access only and addresses are being maintained with the web interface beginning of today.
