Has anyone been able to setup KMS 6.x or KC 7 on a server running Snow Leopard Server without running into LDAP issues?

I setup KMS 6.7.3 patch 1 to use an alternate port for LDAP queries from iCal users, but I don't see a way to get iCal to use it instead of OS X Server's LDAP server. iCal auto-completes invalid "/principals/_uids_/..." email addresses for users, so they can't invite people from the network to their events.

Kerio's auto-config utility complains that the server is already setup in the Contacts tab from Directory Utility. Indeed it is, as part of the normal binding setup for Open Directory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's best not to have the OD master running on the same server as Kerio Connect 7. But, it certainly can be done.
That being said, try performing a manual setup in Directory Utility (in /System/Library/CoreServices in Snow Leopard). That should allow you to add the 2nd reference to the same server with an alternate port. Make sure to only set it for contacts (no authentication).
I suggest a read through of this thread before starting...

Good luck,

1: Make sure Kerio listen to an alternativ port (like 3386)
2: Make sure your Mac uses Kerio as Contact lookup, but the OD as Authentication server.

All works fine.

Note: Kerio NEEDS to have the None-SSL LDAP port active, because the (=#`§*"#"%€#/) setup tool can't figure out only to use the SSL LDAP service.. Go FIgure!

Ups: Also, the two Needs to reply on different hosts, like the OD on the IP address and Kerio on the FQDN, as Directory Utility will not allow two entries with the same IP or hostname!
