We're trying to filter failure notices out of the inbox and into a different folder on one email account.

We can see subject lines on failure notices like "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)", "Failure Notice" and "Returned email: Test" so we have mail filters looking at the subject line (option set to matches) and we have '*Returned*' and '*Fail*' for example but these do not work at all.

Any thoughts as to why it isn't working?

Delivery Status Notifications always have an empty envelope sender. I.e. The Return-Path header is always "<>" (minus the quotes). Can you filter on that instead?

Thanks for the reply.
I really need to filter on the subject line as ultimatley I need to filter the failures with two different subject lines.
We have software that sends out invoices and confirmation letters. This software formats the subject line and content.
When a bounce back happens, the invoice failures need to be seen by our accounts dept and our bookings dept the confirmation failures.

Zebby, how do you configure the filter, via Web Mail? Can you say how you exactly configured the filter?

Currently we have two filters.
Filter 1:
Where the subject matches '*Returned*Invoice, *Undeliverable*Invoice or *Fail*Invoice'
then move it to folder ACCT_TEST
and stop processing more rules.

Filter 2:
Where the subject matches '*Returned*Confirmation, *Undeliverable*Confirmation or *Fail*Confirmation'
then move it to folder CONF_TEST
and stop processing more rules.

I would use the Rule editor directly and use the following script:

if allof (
  header :contains "Subject" ["Returned","Undeliverable","Fail"],
  header :contains "Subject" "Invoice")
{
  fileinto "ACCT_TEST";
}

and create a second rule with

if allof (
  header :contains "Subject" ["Returned","Undeliverable","Fail"],
  header :contains "Subject" "Confirmation")
{
  fileinto "CONF_TEST";
}

This should do the trick.

Kerio is using a generic language for filters which is called Sieve. Just type sieve examples into Google to see the details of the language.
